The last month of school in 2023 has been eventful as students abilities have grown: presenting, creating, designing.
In math we have been looking at geometry, continuing our monthly budgeting. We have also begun to look at real world applications of fractions and probability: mapping and counting out the largest trees (172!!!) on the school grounds and calculating their species percentage ratios; learning how to play dreidel and comparing theoretical and experimental probabilities.
In science, we continue our exploration of biodiversity: observing the growth of the classroom’s pink oyster mushrooms, studying and researching trees and learning about forest succession.
We combined our work in math, science and art to create our science celebration projects:
We also finished our representations of the world’s most significant and stunning rivers, and celebrated the winter season, in art. While writing out curriculum vitae for our new jobs.
In our collaborations with the library, students presented their culture(s) keynotes and continue to explore culture and identity.
