The last month has seen students complete many accomplishments and go through the most significant growth in maturity and ability so far this year. Here are highlights of what we have worked on and continue to work on:

  • Exploring multiplication and division, both in simple and in complex forms.
  • Caring for our potatoes.
Spuds in Tubs
  • Presenting our instruments.
  • Art show work: painting collages of Big Lonely Doug.

  • Beginning to delve into the story of Chanie Wenjack through “Secret Path”.
  • Continuing to learn about biodiversity — herrings, funnel web spiders, our seedlings, etc.
  • Participating in Sports Day with all fervour.
  • Learning programming with the Dash robots.

  • Celebrating our caregivers — watercolour and pressed-plant art
  • Dipping our toes into the world of algebra and, concurrently, written math problems.
  • Reflecting on the work we did this year and their connections to the core competencies: Critical Thinking; Creative Thinking; Communication; Personal Awareness and Responsibility, Social Responsibility and Personal and Cultural Identity.
  • Continuing to look through the 94 calls-to-action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission; and discussing various important observances and celebrations, in particular Asian History Month, Indigenous History Month and Pride Month.
