In our science journals, we recorded the changes we saw in our potato plants, and learned how to identify monocots vs. dicots; applying the knowledge while watching our seedlings grow. The potatoes have grown considerably in part due to our care.
We have also learned about the smallest components of matter (quarks, protons, neutrons and atoms), their astrophysical origins and how combining them represent the “recipes” for all matter in the universe.
Students presented their instruments to the class. We also learned about Eid al-Fitr, making lanterns. And started learning about various Canadians of Asian descent for Asian Heritage Month
We have been doing fun French oral activities courtesy of our Monitrice de langue; playing battle of the bands, enigma, riddles, describe-me, mystery box, etc. Furthermore, students saw the story of Rosetta and Philae — finding elements of the narrative structure in the real-life science story.
