Great work has been done over the last few weeks: students have been exploring regularities in geometry, working in particular on characterizing polygons, reflecting forms and creating tessellations.
In science, we have been exploring the roles of plate tectonics and erosion in the formation of landscapes (i.e. volcanoes, mountains, hills, valleys, plateaux, canyons, interior plains, flood plains), through story telling (both orally and in the form of graphic novels).
In literacy, grade 4 students have been working studiously on their book reports, while grade 3 students have been exploring diverse ways to tell stories; we have read Sylvain Rivard’s book about blankets and are creating our own stories in the form of blankets.
In socials, students have been doing a communication activity in pairs, based on the book Visages du monde. It has been an exercise in patience and exploring the diversity of faces from around the world.
